Grace Anne Nugent

The resources and links here helped me to carry Grace to term and handle what came afterwards.
  1. Be Not Afraid. Excellent website with many stories of women who have carried to term plus resources.
  2. Carrying to Term Pages -- This website is writtenby a woman who had a baby with ancencephaly (a fatal diagnosis). It is filled with lots of practical advice. The "Practical Tips" section was very helpful. It had other people's birth plans. I used these to get ideas for writing Grace's birth plan. A terrific, practical resource.
  3. Carry to Term with Serious Diagnosis Brochure (PDF format) -- A guide for parents who have received a serious prenatal diagnosis
  4. Morning Light Ministry- Another excellent website. A lifeline for me when we first found out. They have a booklet called Hope in Turmoil which is a must read. You can get info on getting support before, during and after your baby's life. Wonderful.
  5. Trisomy 18 Support Organization. You will find a community of people who have lived and survived the trisomy 18 roller coaster. There is a wealth of support, including a live chat twice a week.
  6. Contact your local Hospice before your baby is born. They were so wonderful to us before, during and after Grace. My children and I are continuing to go for counseling. They were also a very important part of taking her home.
  7. Sisters of Life, in the Bronx, NY. This is a group of nuns whose purpose is to support women in crisis pregnancies. Believe me, trisomy 18 is a crisis pregnancy. They prayed for us and got us connected to support from the very beginning. Sister Mary Dolittle was a tremendous support. Her number is 718-881-8008. You can tell her I referred you. She and her sisters will help you each step of the way.
  8. S.O.F.T.- Support for trisomy 18, 13 and related disorders. Good resources about trisomy 18 and living with trisomy 18
  9. Rainbows Down Under - Extensive trisomy 18 information and experiences of families
  10. TrisomyOnLine.org Trisomy Resources
  11. Tiny Angels -- Tributes to tiny angels and their families.
  12. T18 moms -- Get help making a website if you are a family with a T18 diagnosis, or list your website here so others can find it more easily.
  13. Witness to Love: The Short, Beautiful Life of Grace Anne Nugent by John Burger. An article about Grace in the National Catholic Register, January 2003.
  14. Letters to Gabriel by Karen Garver Santorum. CCC of America. 1998. This is a wonderful book written by a mom who got an adverse diagnosis for her son Gabriel. It is an account of her and her husband's journey when they decide to carry to term. Very powerful. A "must read" if you are carrying to term.
  15. Jonathan Dobkowski Website : The story of a family who carried their son Jonathan to term with a fatal condition.
  • Abigail Grace Wilsford Website - Written by her mom who carried her daughter to term with trisomy 18.  This site is an extensive "how to" on t-18 and carrying to term.  Excellent.

  • Living with Trisomy 13.  Written by a mom that carried her child with trisomy 13 to term. Many stories of families who have carried with a trisomy 13 diagnosis. Very practical, hopeful and inspirational.
